The TEXAS JAMM BAND - Members of Ace in the Hole - Sound Requirements - 2013

These are the minimum requirements meant to insure that "The Texas Jamm Band- Members of Ace" in the Hole will deliver professional sound quality.

Larger venues and festival stages will require additional sound and lighting.

ENGINEER:
Venue must provide an experienced sound engineer/monitor person capable of mixing a 7-piece country band, and who knows that the vocals MUST be heard above all. We have 4 lead vocalists.

MIX:
Every instrument is to be heard, with vocals.
Individual vocal EQ and level adjustments may be needed, but the vocal mix should be “even to the ear” as the band works to mix themselves as much as possible.

FOH MIXING CONSOLE:
A professional mixing console with a minimum of 12 inputs, and capable of at least 5 independent pre fader monitor mixes.

FOH SPEAKERS and POWER:
Power amps (house and monitor): Must be sufficient enough to amplify a full band without distortion or feedback.

FOH speakers:

Quality, 3-way, tri-amped speaker system appropriately sized for the venue, able to fill the room cleanly and evenly;
Typically to include 18-inch sub-woofers, 12-inch M/L Drivers and 2-inch HF drivers. JBL, AEW, or EV preferred mains.

MONITORS:
Must be high quality (15 or 12 inch drivers with horns) to ensure vocals can clearly be heard, including one wedge per vocal mic (6) minimum.
(2 monitors on each vocal would be preferred)
Monitors need individual EQs.

MICROPHONES:
Vocals – Shure SM58 (4) for front stage vocals
Guitars, steel, fiddle, and Drums (toms & snare) – SM57 or similar (at least 5)
High-Hat (if available- Drum Overheads)
Kick Drum – Audix D6, Shure Beta 52A, or AKG D112
Enough boom stands to accommodate vocal mics and instruments.

DI:
2 DI’s needed for stereo keyboard setup,
2 DI's for fiddles
2 DI's for Acoustic Guitars
1 DI for Bass Guitar

ELECTRICAL POWER REQUIREMENTS:
Venue must ensure that there is solid electrical power being supplied to the venue in order to keep the sound, lighting, and band up and running throughout their performance.
Power drops available on stage for amps, and drummer fan, racks, etc.

LIGHTING:
8 PAR 56 cans (or LED) front and at least 4 behind to illumiate stage for band members charts and keep stage lit for guitar and fiddle changes.
